The Home Bee

Brief
This e-commerce store is the expansion of the family's P.A. Kalogeratos brick and mortar business that opened it's digital doors at 2016. Since they have outgrown the first e-shop project they created we were tasked of recreating their e-commerce business from scratch to be more future proof. One of the basic requirements of the project was to be able to perform 2-way syncs with suppliers and manufacturers, in order to automate the product data entry as much as possible.
Approach
After fully understanding the projects need through our unique and battle tested discovery sessions we got to work. The 2-way sync with multiple manufacturers and the pre & post processing that would need to happen was by far the most challenging feature of this project. Having worked and created many e-commerce solutions in the past, we already knew everything else that needed to be done.
How it was made
Bee Different
It is very common in projects like these to have a large amount of products. This was no different. 15.000 products from day 1 and around 1000 new products are added each month. As you can understand, it was imperative to have a very good User Experience (UX). We wanted users to be able to browse easily through all the categories and sub-categories, that's why we have mega menu navigation and sub-menu navigation layout on each parent category.
Filtering is also out of the way by default and only appearing visible when the user wants to filter something. This allows for a focused and relaxed product browsing and discovery by the user. We want the user to discover new products and browse through the catalog on his category of choice without filtering, but still have filtering there if needed.

Bee in Control
Product detail page is the most important page in an e-commerce website. We made use of all the available space here and gave the user the best experience when browsing, where you can see all the information without any scrolling. All the necessary information about the product are right there, front and center.
Product images have a zooming functionality as well as a click-to-open functionality so the user always has the best product image available.
