The project lacked the needed support and attention, it needed a fresh start. It also faced challenges with hosting performance, leading to frequent downtime.
Problems
Website had issues with SEO because react.js without server side rendering was used in half of the project, that's bad news for SEO. It had also reliability issues and frequent downtime.
Solution
Fix everything and support the project making it a success once again!
How it was made
First We Fix The Foundation
The first thing this project needed was establishing a solid, reliable infrastructure. We developed a customized server stack specifically for this project, setting up both production and staging instances, along with git and deployment protocols, up-to-date and secure software versions, aggressive caching strategies, and much more.
Ultimately, our goal here was to establish a strong hosting foundation that will be reliable at all times regardless of any traffic spikes.
Then We Get Better
Stability was our top priority. This would set the stage for continuous enhancements and development.
Next in line was SEO, crucial for a business directory to stand out in search results. Given that react.js didn't offer any tangible advantages for us in most places, we switched to vanilla Drupal templates, improving the technical SEO game across the board.
SEO was improved and so was the success of the project. It was time to add more functionality.
We added essential details for businesses and users, incorporating features like area of coverage, real-time opening and closing notifications, tools to mass import businesses from other geographical regions, as well as product listing for businesses.
Our mission remains to endlessly refine and uplift the user experience for this project.
