Why it matters

Every moment a visitor has to stop and think is a moment they think about leaving.

Confusing navigation and needless friction quietly drain conversions, one frustrated user at a time.

A website is not only about looking good. It should be easy to use and intuitive to its users. The golden rule for UX design is:

Don't make me think!

Users should spend minimal time, if any, to figure out what to do next in your application. The less cognitive work a brain has to do, the easier the experience for the user and the happier will feel at the end. Because he completed what he intended to do, with minimal effort.

The first impression of a website is a big deal. It shapes their perspective for your company. Of course, UX is a very difficult field to get it right from the start. It usually involves a lot of information, analytics, user behavioral studies, human psychology and a lot more.

We always design and develop our projects with UX best practices and data analytics in mind. They did not redesign anything before they showed us the data. Two changes we would never have guessed lifted our sign-ups more than the entire previous redesign did.

Frequently asked questions

Our site looks good but people do not convert. Can UX fix that?

That is exactly the gap UX work covers. Looking good and being easy to use are two different things, and conversions usually leak at the points where a visitor has to stop and think: unclear navigation, a form that asks for too much, a step that does not explain its purpose. We find those points with research and testing rather than opinion, and then remove them.

Do we have to redesign the whole site?

Usually not. Most of the gain comes from a handful of specific changes that the data points to, which is why we measure before changing any design. We recommend a full redesign only when the problem lies in the information architecture itself.

What does a UX engagement include in practice?

Usability testing of your site or app, an information architecture analysis, research into user needs and behaviour, a design review, and benchmarking against your competitors. It ends with a UX strategy and a prioritised action plan, so you know what gets fixed first. We have a documented procedure for each of these and can walk you through them before you commit.

Do you need access to our users and our analytics?

Analytics access shows us where people drop off, so it helps enormously. Testing with real users is worth even more, and we can recruit participants who match your audience if involving your own customers is not practical. Everything we see stays between us.

Do you implement the changes or only recommend them?

Both are possible. We design and develop in house, so we can take the plan through to a live implementation, or hand it to your team with enough detail for them to do it. On our own projects we apply UX best practice from the start, which costs less than fixing things afterwards.
